Over this weekend police reportedly received a call from a building complaining about the car being parked for a longer time. When police arrived they found Maya to be dead in the front seat of the car, while the woman was shot multiple times.

Police were also shocked to see that a two years old girl was also right behind the seat who was behind her dead mother. Although the child was safe, officers transferred the girl to the nearby health care for safety purposes, after which the girl was transferred to the responsible family members of the child. This complaint was filed around 12:21 am on Sunday, while the police started to investigate the case.
Police mentioned that Maya was shot multiple times in her body which they found out during investigations. It was also mentioned that later investigations landed upon a man who was later arrested and charged with the murder of Maya. The man was a 48 old guy named Jermaine Mandley who is from Chicago. Officers arrested Mandley on this Tuesday the 10th of January 2023, while they set the bond of Mandley at a cost of 5 million dollars.
