She expressed her concern through a tweet reads that “Got some relief after hearing that Salman Rushdie is pulling through after the horrible nightmare that has happened on Friday. Wordless and worried, can finally exhale. Now I am praying as well as hoping for his recovery and healing.” As per the report, on Saturday, 13th August 2022, the Indian novelist has knocked off a ventilator, the next day after he was stabbed. The incident happened at the lecture he was giving in western New York State. The media reports also indicated that the Indian novelist had begun talking.
Padma Lakshmi A Message Of Support After Salman Rushdie’s Death
On Sunday, 14th August 2022, his son named Zafar Rushdie stated that his father remains in a critical situation and was admitted to the hospital and he was resumed to get broad ongoing medical treatment. His son further stated that he was happy and glad to watch his father is fine. His father’s “usual defiant and feisty sense of humour remains flawless” after he was taken off from the ventilator bed. The great novelist was admitted to the hospital after he was assailed at an event that was happening in New York. Andrew Wylie, the agent of Salman Rushdie, asserted that the novelist was disconnected from the ventilator and now he is able to talk.
Though his agent did not share much information about his current health status. His son released a statement after the attack which reads that “After the attack that happened on Friday, 12th August 2022, my father remained in serious condition and admitted into the hospital where he is getting large medical treatment. I and my whole family are highly feeling relaxed that yesterday he was disconnected from additional oxygen and ventilator and he is talking now but not that much.” In this incident, Hadi Matar was arrested in the case of stabbing Salman Rushdie during an event in New York. Hadi appealed “not guilty” in order to try killing in the 2nd degree and the New York court made other charges against him.
