James Cameron who is the director, co-producer, and writer of the movie added that he wanted to explore more of the story of the blue people. Thus, the director added that he will be making more parts to it. Now in 2022 Avatar’s second part named The ways of water was released and it was highly awaited movie of all time. After a delay of over one decade and also the pandemic in between this movie that is the way of water took three years in making and thus it was released after a long delay. After this movie was released, James mentioned that he wanted to wrap the movie up in a total of three parts but as there is more to the story of this blue being, he will take a total of five parts.

Later, he also mentioned that as the movie has much more to tell about these blue beings and their planet Navi, James will be aiming three movie parts to this and the third part is already in making. He also mentioned that he will be ending the franchise in the near future. Likewise, it was mentioned that the third part of Avatar season 3 will be released in 2024. It was mentioned that Avatar 3 is set to come out on the 20th of December 2024 and there will be a continuation of the storyline from the second part.
