Students, staff, and parents were all terrified when the shooting news came up and they were all united after the investigation. It was mentioned by the police that they received a call from an anonymous person that he is going to initiate a shooting at the school.
Lockdown Lifted In Clovis West High School
Police put the school under lockdown while it began around 2 pm and after two hours the lockdown was lifted. Though police said that they did not find any active shooter, still precautions were taken and they also searched the whole area for any kind of threat to the civilians or to the schoolmates as well. Police later mentioned that there is no threat to anyone in the area. As the police officers received a call around 1:45 pm they immediately called for lockdown and also rushed to the place.
Though later they revealed that they did not find any threat or any shooting occurred in the school as they were there investigating. The threat was later declared to be a bogus or fake threatening call. Police are looking forward to finding out who called the police giving such threatening calls and also to finding the person behind it as well. This fake threat call was received this Friday the 3rd of Feb 2023 while police added that the shooting was just a hoax and there was no person shooting or with firearms as well.
Who Is The Shooter?
There was a huge line of police seen and there were several police units involved in the investigation or searching for the active shooter as well. Officers added that they were rushed to the school, and found nothing, while they also mentioned that they had the offer to arrive in three minutes as they received the threat minutes ago. Officers added that they were on the call with the threatener when they rushed to the place. While on the other hand, school staff added that they are grateful that the officers arrived on time, though they found no threat or evidence of a shooting, they were no chaos or injuries so far.
The school was under lockdown until 2:05 pm and later police also put the campus blocking off and locked the whole area as well. While reactive teams and contact teams were both inside the school sweeping the whole area and searching for the shooter. Students later after the space were cleared were left at their houses, while the ones who go by busses were left at their homes, and the ones show come with their parents were held inside the school until their families arrive. The school later released a statement that the school is now secure and safe.
