He has died away in a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday because of some illness, although the cause of death has not been revealed yet. But most probably he died of natural causes as he was 71 years old. He was a really well-known politician and he won the Member of Legislative Assembly election five times from the North Calcutta constituency. Mamta Banerjee has expressed her grief for her colleague on Twitter and commented on him as a very helpful guy. Reportedly, he was suffering from kidney problems, and later he was shifted to a hospital in Mumbai from Kolkata. His condition was really critical and then he sadly passed away and the doctors could not save him.
