Aaroor was born in Tiruvarur and he was earlier named Yesudas which he later changed. He changed his name and added the last part of his hometown name to his name as Aaroor. Aaroor from a very young age was interested in screenplay writing and also in story writing as well which helped him gain more expertise and also a career in the field of art and filming as well. From the young age of 16, Aaroor used to write drama troupe and started his career initially as a dubbing artist and writing for various movies and translating them into Hindi and other languages as well. Aaroor also translated various languages like Hindi and Tamil.

Aaroor was born in a small town and he used to write for various screenplays and also used to translate dialogues as well. He initiated his career in writing by translating dubbed versions of dialogues from Hindi films called Qaidi and translated them into Tamil. Aaroor also wrote stories and also dialogues in the movie called Vaazha Vaitha Deivam which also featured a great actor named Gemini Ganesh and B Saroja Devi. Aaroor used to work as a dialogue writer for many films and he wrote for dialogues fully for a film called Pasamalar which starred Sivaji Ganesan in the lead role. CM added that he carved a niche for himself in the film industry through his writings and through his impeccable work. CM also said that Aaroor captured the hearts of millions of people through his work and dialogues in Pasamalar. CM Stalin also earlier gave the Kalaignar Lalaithurai Vithagar award earlier this year, and CM mentioned this by saying that he was honoured to present this award to Aaroor.
