Katherine Ann Whitworth who is also known as Kathy Whitworth was born on the 27th of September 1939 in Monahan’s, Texas. She was one among the three daughters of Morris Whitworth who had a hardware store in Mexico and later he became the mayor of the town. Kathy was someone who was interested in Golf from a very young age. She attended Odessa college and later started playing tennis at 14. She also won the championship in this game at the New Mexico Amateur championships in 1957 and 1958. At the age of 19, she began her interest in Golf and started playing the game as Harvey Penick her coach and joined the LPGA later in 1958.
