It was also added that he was transferred to the hospital in a medical emergency and was also getting treated as well. It was mentioned by his wife of George that George collapsed in his house on the 24th of January 2023, while he was at his house in Nairobi.
George collapsed around 3 pm and was rushed to the hospital then. George passed away at the age of 71. It was later mentioned that the former minister of education suffered a cardiac arrest after which he passed away while at the hospital. Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet member said that the Former Education minister, George has now passed away. Not only did George serve as the Education Minister but also as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi from Jan 2005 until Jan 2015.

He also served as the professor of surgery at the Uon and the professor of surgery at the institution’s college of Health science as well. He was appointed as the CS for education on the 27th of October 2022, while earlier he served in the position of cabinet Secretary for education from March 26th of 2019 after getting vetted by the National Assembly. Speaking of education of George then he had his primary education in Siaya, Yala while he joined the Starehe Boys Center and Strathmore College for his higher studies.

He had his later education at the University of Lagos in Nigeria, where he majored in medicine. He also studied at the University teaching hospital where he majored in Surgery and urology. He became a professor at Lagos University teaching as an intern and later at the hospital as well as a lecturer. He also served at the University of Nairobi as a lecturer in the year 1998 as a lecturer and in 2000 he fully signed as a professor of surgery.
Speaking of the funeral of George then it is mentioned that his funeral might be kept on the 28th of January 2023, while his demise news came right after the demise of Prof, Richard Nyabera Magoha who also passed away last month in the USA while he passed away on the 6th of December 2022. While the family was already going through a burial service for Richard, they now are having their funeral services for George as well, it can be said that the family is going through a great loss of their two members. Richard is the younger brother of George who passed away last month. George is survived by his wife, and his son Michael Magoha.
