It was appealed by Heeringa’s parents, introduced by Representative Collene Lamonte and community member Sharron Pennell, and sponsored by Marcia Hovey-Wright and several other Michigan legislature members that the bill requires gas stations and convenience stores that are open between the hours of 11 pm and 5 am to install and maintain a security camera system or to have at least two employees on shift during these hours. The bill would establish a civil fine of not more than $200 for each infringement. Businesses excluded from Jessica’s Law include hotels, taverns, restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, supermarkets, or businesses with more than 10,000 square feet of retail space.

Was Jessica Ever Found After Her Disappearance

It’s been 10 years since the 25-year-old young mother disappeared, and her body never found. Now for the first time, the superior detective is revealing where he thinks Willis, now a convicted serial killer, buried her.

As a consequence, Jessica was never found after her kidnapping and declared missing by police soon after she disappeared while working the night shift at a local gas station, the case that gripped West Michigan still doesn’t have an ending. Heeringa’s body has yet to be located despite more than a dozen searches by law enforcement and a countless number of tips. Even the serial killer’s conviction for her kidnapping and murder failed to lead investigators to Heeringa.
