We’re talking about the Indian women’s hockey team midfielder Namita Toppo. She got really emotional after doing the announcement and everybody is congratulating her and up counting her achievements. She had been a great addition to the Indian National team since she started and Hockey India officially gave her A Farewell message. She made her debut in 2012 and she has earned more than 160 caps. Namita Toppo Announces Retirement From Hockey

After representing India so many times she is now packing her bag. She literally made a huge impact on women’s hockey and she had been a major source of motivation in the last decade. She started representing a state team in 2007 Informatic competitions and she was selected for the Asia Cup in Bangkok Thailand 2011 where the Indian team was able to capture the bronze medal. She is currently 27 years old and it is a really surprising decision at a really young age. She is taking retirement. She was born on 4th June 1995 in Odisha and she was awarded the Eklavya award.

She also appeared in the women’s hockey world cup in London and she was the part of Olympic squad which represented India in the summer Olympics after 36 years and they did a really great thing. There was a really controversial event during the 2016 Rio Olympics where she was made to sit on the floor of the train while returning back to home. She was given a cash prize of $1000 for the bronze medal winner in the Asian games and then she received almost $10000 from the Odisha mining Corporation for her participation in the Olympic games.

She has represented India on almost every possible International platform and she was always a really energetic player full of energy and optimism.
