Carolina’s Early Life 

Carolina Cruz Martinez was born on 1st October 1981, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She was the daughter of Elvira de Cruz and Don Quique Cruz. She grew up in a loving family with her sister, Claudia Julissa Cruz Rodriguez, and two brothers, Enrique Cruz, and Elvis Cruz. Her sister Claudia is a well-known and successful Dominican actress, TV host, model, and beauty pageant titleholder.

Carolina’s Early Education

Carolina completed her studies at Boston College where she met Pedro. She has done her degrees in the field of Journalism. She was also a talented volleyball player during her school and college days. She then moved to University of Miami for the masters degree in the same journalism field. She also attended the Project Zero Summer Institute in 2012 at  the Harvard School of Education.

Carolina’s Career and Achievements

Carolina started her professional journey in 2003 as a Newscaster at Telemundo Hartford. This was her first ever job as a journalist and she wanted to go ahead in this field. She worked as a reporter for ESPN Deportes from 2004-2005, where she covered on-field action during the Dominican Republic’s Winter Baseball season.

Her most dreaming job was as a columnist for Editora Listin Diario that she joined in 2005. In this job she used to explore and share social topics from an interdisciplinary and spiritual perspective to make it relatable from people’s daily life.

In 2009, she joined as Pedro Martinez Charity Director and she is still managing this position. She is now working for her husband and she has actively contributed to Pedro’s charitable organization, the “Pedro Martinez and Brothers Foundation.” While the foundation officially operates in both the United States and the Dominican Republic, its primary focus is children’s welfare, education, and healthcare issues in the DR.
